Match preview

Can LA Galaxy hold onto their position just above the Western Conference play-off line?

Greg Vanney's team will return to action after their weekend after Cali Clásico in San Jose was postponed due to a power outage at Stanford Stadium.

When the Galaxy did last take to the field, Dejan Joveljić's late equaliser ensured they held Portland Timbers to a 1-1 draw in Carson.

But, LA have struggled for consistency of late, winning three, drawing three and losing three since mid-April.

Having also lost two of their last four home matches, the Galaxy will also be desperately hoping to improve their form in front of their own supporters.

In that regard, Minnesota United will be very welcome visitors, due to their own rapidly deteriorating form.

Adrian Heath's side have now lost three on the bounce, following Saturday night's 2-1 defeat against Inter Miami.

Luis Amarilla opened the scoring in Fort Lauderdale, only for the home side to score twice in the final three minutes to completely turn things around.

In all, the Loons have only taken four points from the last 24 available, seeing them sink down to 12th in the west.

A home win therefore looks likely at Dignity Health Sports Park.
