Match preview

Two of the Western Conference's top teams go head-to-head for the second time this month.

Just 20 days ago, Marky Delgado's rocket, cannoning in off the post, saw LA Galaxy leave Q2 Stadium with a 1-0 victory.

Will this one go the same way?

Despite this, it's Austin FC who are higher up in the Eastern Conference standings, four points better off than their hosts.

The Verde and Black pulled off a remarkable comeback last weekend to draw 2-2 with Orlando City in Texas.

The visitors were actually reduced to nine-men in the second half with Sebastián Driussi halving the deficit from the penalty spot.

Despite their two-man advantage, it took until the 96th minute for Austin to snatch a point; Moussa Djitté firing home at the back post.

So, Josh Wolff's men have taken 18 points from the last 30 available, leaving them just two points adrift Supporters' Shield leaders LAFC.

LA Galaxy meanwhile come into this one following a famous U.S. Open Cup victory on Wednesday night.

Kévin Cabral, Javier Hernández and then Dejan Joveljić were all on target as the Galaxy beat El Tráfico rivals LAFC 3-1 in a midweek cup tie.

The Galaxy, who haven't won the Open Cup since 2005, will now host Sacramento Republic of USL Championship in next month's quarter-finals.

Back in MLS, Greg Vanney's side have hit a bump in the road, failing to win any of their last three.

This includes last Sunday's 3-0 home reverse against Houston Dynamo, form that means LA have slid down to fifth in the west.

Will the Galaxy get back on track at Dignity Health Sports Park?
