Match preview

LAFC continue to lead the way at the top of the overall standings.

Last weekend, the Black and Gold came from a goal down to beat strugglers FC Cincinnati 2-1 at TQL Stadium.

Kellyn Acosta firing home an equaliser before Danny Musovski bagged the decisive go-ahead goal in Ohio.

This means Steve Cherundolo's side have amassed 19 points from eight matches, only losing in El Tráfico to LA Galaxy thus far.

Thus, this is a daunting task for Minnesota United, but they do make the 1,862 mile journey south-west buoyant after a big win last weekend.

Emanuel Reynoso, Kervin Arriaga and Robin Lod all scored in the final 15 minutes as the Loons, eventually, demolished Chicago Fire 3-0 at Allianz Field.

That's back-to-back home wins for Adrian Heath's men after they also put three past Colorado Rapids in St. Paul a week earlier.

This all means Minnesota are up to fifth, and would go just two points behind their hosts with a shock victory.

Will LAFC be too strong at Banc of California Stadium?
