Match preview

After a very bad week, can LAFC reclaim top spot in the Western Conference?

Last weekend, the Black and Gold were beaten 2-0 by Colorado Rapids thanks to a pair of first half penalties at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

Then, on Wednesday night, Steve Cherundolo's side were beaten at home for the first time, going down 2-1 against Austin FC.

Carlos Vela's late spot-kick unable to spark a comeback as LAFC relinquished first place with their victors, the Verde and Black, claiming the summit.

Only twice in club history have LAFC lost three successive MLS games, so will they avoid that same fate here?

Over in the east, 2020 MLS Cup winners Columbus Crew currently find themselves below the play-off line due to their inconsisent form.

Caleb Porter's side were last in action a week ago when they were beaten 2-0 at Yankee Stadium by defending champions NYCFC.

So, Ohio's Black and Gold have only won one of their last eight, with all three of their victories in 2022 coming in front of their own fans.

Will Lower.com Field be celebrating a much-needed home win?
