Last weekend, a pair of penalties, scored by Gyasi Zardes and Diego Rubio, saw the Rapids beat LAFC 2-0 in Denver.

This extends their unbeaten streak of regular season home matches to 22, dating back to April last year when they were beaten by Austin.

Since that win, Robin Fraser's side have made the 583 mile journey east to Kansas, but came home empty handed.

That's because they were beaten 2-1 by Sporting KC on Wednesday with both sides reduced to nine-men following a mass brawl in stoppage time.

Austin Trusty and Lucas Esteves, who'd equalised earlier in the night, dismissed, meaning both are suspended for this one.

In the table, the Rapids are currently just above the play-off line with all five of their victories in 2022 having come on home turf.

CONCACAF Champions League winners Seattle meanwhile are trying to climb up the standings having started slowly due to their continental commitments.

Brian Schmetzer's side are on for a nine-point-week having first come from behind to beat Minnesota United 3-1 at Lumen Field last weekend.

Then, on Wednesday, the Sounders beat Houston Dynamo 1-0 at PNC Stadium with Raúl Ruidíaz getting the only goal.

These back-to-back successes have lifted the Rave Green up to 11th, two points below the play-off line with two games in hand.
