Inter Miami vs Portland Timbers betting tips: Major League Soccer preview, predictions and odds

This'll be just a second-ever meeting between these two with Portland Timbers winning the first 1-0 at Providence Park last October. Inter Miami are unbeaten in five matches in Fort Lauderdale, needing to avoid defeat here to match the club's record.

Both teams to score is 7/10.

Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals is 6/5.

Portland to win and over 2.5 goals is 7/2.

Leonardo Campana has scored seven goals for Inter Miami this season, five of which have come at home. He is 13/2 to break the deadlock and 21/10 to score anytime.

Jarosław Niezgoda is 11/2 to open the scoring and 7/2 to add to his Timbers tally.

Match preview

Can Inter Miami continue their improving home form?

Last weekend, the Herons beat New York Red Bulls 2-0 in Fort Lauderdale, ending RBNY's unbeaten away record in 2022.

Ari Lassiter's deflected, curling shot breaking the deadlock before Robert Taylor walked the ball in to make it two.

This result means Phil Neville's side are up to tenth in the east having taken 14 points from their last eight matches, ten of which have come at home.

However, Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami's first-ever U.S. Open Cup adventure came to an end on Wednesday night in dramatic fashion.

They drew 0-0 with Orlando City after 90 minutes with Jean Mota opening the scoring early in extra time, only for Orlando to equalise moments later.

In the subsequent shootout, Bryce Duke and then DeAndre Yedlin both failed to convert from 12 years as Inter Miami bowed out.

Back in Major League Soccer, will the side from the sunshine state continue to enjoy brighter days?

Portland Timbers meanwhile have been consistently strong in recent season, but the only thing consistent about them just now is their inconsistency.

Last weekend, Giovanni Savarese's side were beaten 2-0 at Providence Park by Eastern Conference leaders Philadelphia Union.

That's now back-to-back defeats for the Timbers who've only won one of their last seven, an historic 7-2 demolition of Sporting Kansas City.

Portland though remain winless on the road in the U.S. this season, so can they change that at DRV PNK Stadium?
