Will Chicago Fire continue their unbeaten start to the 2022 season in this cross-conference affair?

Ironically, Ezra Hendrickson's side didn't really catch fire at the start of this season, beginning with back-to-back goalless draw against Inter Miami and Orlando.

But, last weekend, Chicago were red hot as they saw off D.C. United 2-0 at Audi Field.

Stanislav Ivanov with the go-ahead goal in the capital before veteran Jonathan Bornstein fired home the clincher ten minutes from time.

Chicago haven't finished above the play-off line since 2017, their only post-season appearance in nine attempts, so will be content with their current position of sixth.

Sporting Kansas City meanwhile have enjoyed much more success in the last decade, topping the Western Conference in 2018 and 2020.

However, right now, the Wizards are 21st in the overall standings after a 2-0 defeat to Colorado at Dick's Sporting Goods Park last weekend.

So, Peter Vermes' side have lost both away games so far, also going down 3-1 at Atalanta, but did beat Houston Dynamo 1-0 in between.

Nevertheless, this isn't the start to the season SKC fans would've expected, hoping for better as they make the 513 mile journey north east.
