Match preview

After a rare setback last weekend, can Charlotte FC get back to winning ways?

Seven days ago, Queen City were beaten 2-0 by Club de Foot Montréal, a result that took the Canadian club top of the east.

Before this though, Miguel Ángel Ramírez's side had won four consecutive home matches, keeping a clean sheet in the most recent three of those.

So, despite being winless on the road, CLTFC are just below the Eastern Conference play-off line, which isn't bad considering they're the expansion club.

Meanwhile, Vancouver Whitecaps currently find themselves rock bottom of the west.

Although, Vanni Sartini's side travel to North Carolina rejuvenated after a last-gasp comeback in midweek.

On Wednesday night, the Caps came from a goal down to beat Dallas 2-1 at BC Place.

Brian White equalising before Lucas Cavallini converted a dramatic 92nd minute penalty in British Columbia.

Overall, the Whitecaps are now unbeaten in three having beaten Canadian rivals Toronto 1-0 before a 3-3 draw with San Jose Quakes.

In all three of those, Vancouver have scored an outcome-altering goal in the 90th minute or later.

Now, back on the road for the first time since 23 April, will the Caps leave Bank of America Stadium with a result?
