Tony Adams and his snazzy suits
In England, Tony Adams has a brilliant playing career as captain of Arsenal to fall back on.
Whilst his managerial record is sketchy at best, everyone still remembers Adams as a leader of men in one of the best defences ever seen in English football.
In Spain, it is a very different story.
Tony Adams presides over Granada relegation
Granada were going down long before Tony Adams took over as coach last month.
Yet, his record as coach, of a very poor team, is woeful and his actions on the training pitch plus dress sense have undoubtedly caught the eye.
On Saturday, already relegated Granada took on Real Madrid with Zinedine Zidane playing his B side, in between the Champions League semi-final against Atletico Madrid.
Granada 0 – Real Madrid 4
Real Madrid’s B side would arguably beat many of the top teams in Europe and the Granada match was over within 11 minutes as James Rodriguez had scored twice.
Further goals from Alvaro Morata meant it was 4-0 by the 35th minute as Real Madrid kept control of the La Liga title race.
As a result, Tony Adams’ record at Granada reads: Played 5, lost 5, goals scored: 1, goals conceded: 13.
Isco savages Tony Adams
The Real Madrid bench was pretty incredible for the Granada match and included Karim Benzema, Isco, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Marcelo.
Cameras on ground level have spotted that the Real Madrid bench were all caught laughing at Tony Adams early on in the game.
Isco was the ring leader, with the Spanish midfielder calling out to Adams: “Waiter! A Coca Cola!”
Much to the amusement of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos. See the Real Madrid bench in hysterics on the clip below, within the first 22 seconds on the video.
At the end of the video there is a great moment as Casemiro is asked for his shirt by a young child, during his post-match interview.
Luka Modric also shows great generosity as well…
