Ukraine vs England live streaming: Preview

Ukraine and England battle it out for a place in the last four when they face off in the quarter-finals of Euro 2020 at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico on Saturday.

Andriy Shevchenko’s side only secured three points in Group C, but progressed as one of the four best third-placed teams following Sweden’s last-gasp 3-2 victory over Poland in their final group match.

The Blue and Yellow faced Sweden in the last-16, securing a 2-1 victory after extra-time with substitute Artem Dovbyk heading past goalkeeper Robin Olhsen in the 121st minute, sending them through to their first ever quarter-final at the European Championships.

Ukraine forward Artem Besedin limped off following a horrific challenge from Sweden’s Marcus Danielson and is ruled out through injury, and Denys Popov is also absent with a muscle tear.

England, managed by Gareth Southgate, go into the clash on the back of an impressive 2-0 win over old foes Germany.

Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling broke the deadlock on 75 minutes, before Harry Kane sealed England’s place in the quarter-finals heading past goalkeeper Manuel Neuer in front of 41,000 supporters inside Wembley Stadium.

The win over Die Mannschaft was the first in a tournament knockout stage since the 1966 World Cup Final, and it also meant the Three Lions have not conceded a goal in any of their first four matches of the tournament, a record which was previously set by Germany in 2016.

England are likely to be unchanged against Ukraine, and use Grealish yet again as an impact substitution.

Both last faced each other in September 2013, in a 0-0 draw.

Prediction: Ukraine 0 – 1 England

Ukraine have done incredibly well to reach this far of the tournament, but England, who have better attacking options, defeated the odds to secure an unexpected victory over old nemesis Germany last time out. Should the Three Lions progress to semi-finals, they will face either Czech Republic or Denmark at their Wembley headquarters.
