Thailand vs Malaysia live streaming: Preview

Thailand entertain Malaysia at the Al-Maktoum Stadium in Dubai, in the second round of the AFC 2022 World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday.

This is in affect a dead rubber as neither side can progress to next stage of qualifying.

Akira Nishino’s side, started their qualifying campaign really well and were unbeaten in their first three matches. However, the War Elephants have only managed two points since then, and have not won in their last seven games.

Thailand lost 3-1 to United Arab Emirates last Monday which ended their hopes of progressing further in the qualifiers.

Malaysia, managed by Tan Cheng Hoe, suffered a 2-1 defeat to Vietnam on Friday, which ended their hopes of progression, also. The result meant Hoe’s side have lost their last four games, conceding 12 goals in the process.

Supachai Chaided is likely to make way for Adisak Kraisorn in the starting XI, and youngster Suphanat Muenta, who netted his third international goal in sixth appearances in the defeat to the UAE, will be given his chance to lead the line.

Both last faced each other in November 2019, with Malaysia winning 2-1.

Prediction: Thailand 1 – 1 Malaysia

Both teams are playing for pride when they lock horns, given each side can’t progress to the next stages of qualifiers.
