Stranraer vs Hibernian live streaming: Preview
Can the lowest-ranked club left in the Scottish Cup cause a big upset?
Stranraer have already had to win three ties to get this far, putting out The Spartans, Kelty Hearts and then Brora Rangers.
The latter was a 3-1 extra time victory in which Thomas Orr scored the deceive strike.
So, the Blues are the only club who’ve reached the fourth round from League Two or below.
In the league, Stephen Farrell’s side were last in action on Thursday, demolishing Stenhousemuir 4-0; Ruari Paton with a brace.
Thus, this leaves them in the fourth and final League Two play-off spot, above Elgin on goal difference.
Hibernian meanwhile are looking to cap off a successful season.
Hibs beat Queen of the South 3-1 in the third round 13 days ago, Christian Doidge scoring a brace in Dumfries.
Jack Ross’ side lost their last Premiership game, 2-1 at Rangers, but remain third in the table.
If they stayed there and either they or one of the Old Firm won the cup, Hibs would be guaranteed European group phase football next season, something they’ve never achieved before.
However, they’d also love a trophy.
The Hibees have already lost two semi-finals this season, losing to Hearts in the 2020 Scottish Cup and St Johnstone in the League Cup, so would love to all the way to the final.
Will Hibs be too strong at Stair Park and set up a quarter-final clash with Motherwell?
Prediction: Stranraer 1-3 Hibernian
This is just the Stranraer and Hibernian have been drawn together in the Scottish Cup.
Back in 2001/02, it finished goalless at Stair Park before Hibs won the replay 4-0 at Easter Road.
