Can Rangers get back to winning ways in the Scottish Premiership?

Last weekend, despite taking the lead through John Lundstram, the Gers conceded in stoppage time to only draw 1-1 with Hearts at home.

Allan McGregor at fault for the Jambos’ late equaliser.

The Champions are top of the table but have already failed to win three times in the league this season, losing to Dundee United and drawing with Motherwell.

In the whole of last season, they dropped just 12 points compared to seven from nine matches this time around.

So, Steven Gerrard’s side do start the weekend top but five clubs are six points or less behind.

Rangers did at least enjoy a crucial victory on Thursday in the UEFA Europa League.

Goals from Leon Balogun and then Kemar Roofe saw the Light Blue beat Danish Superligaen champions Brøndby 2-0 at Ibrox.

For the latter, Roofe appeared to be miles offside but, after VAR review, the goal was given.

This means Rangers are up to third in Europa League Group A, above Brøndby and just a point behind Sparta Praha.

Now, a mere 62 hours after that game finished, will the champions win in Paisley?

St Mirren meanwhile made a poor start to the season but have started to find some form.

Last weekend, Eamonn Brophy, Marcus Fraser and Scott Tanser were all on target as the Saints beat Ross County 3-2 in a thriller in Dingwall.

The Buddies are now unbeaten in six Premiership games including winning three in a row, following victories over Aberdeen and Livingston.

This has lifted them up to seventh, just a couple of points adrift the European places.

They’re now looking to win four top-flight games in a row for the first time since 2008.

Will Jim Goodwin’s side cause an upset at the Simple Digital Arena?
