Fulham’s destiny is now decided: the Championship.

On Monday night, they were beaten 2-0 by Burnley at Craven Cottage which cemented their immediate relegation back to the second-tier.

This is the earliest in Premier League history that all three teams have been relegated (three games to go).

This also means Fulham’s last three Premier League adventures have all ended in relegation.

Scott Parker is expected to remain as the manager but has a lot of work to do ahead of their promotion push kicking off in August.

Will the Cottagers end the season with some positive results?

Southampton meanwhile will be relived it’s not they who can be relegated.

Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side did enjoy a rare victory on Tuesday night, coming from behind to beat Crystal Palace 3-1 at home.

Danny Ings with a brace, either side of a goal for Ché Adams; Fraser Forster another key contributor, saving a penalty.

This is just the third time the Saints have won a Premier League game since 4 January, falling from sixth to 16th in that time.

Tuesday’s win did see them move back up to 14th and reach the magic 40 points.

Now, can Southampton win back-to-back league games for the first time since 13 December?

Prediction: Southampton 2-0 Fulham

Southampton have lost just three of their last 43 home games against sides kicking off in the relegation zone.

Fulham have only scored in one of their last seven meetings with Saints.
