Manchester City are Premier League champions once again.

On Tuesday evening, Manchester United were beaten 2-1 by Leicester which confirmed Man City as champions.

This is the Cityzens fifth title in ten season and their third in four years under Pep Guardiola.

Now, having won the Carabao Cup for a fourth season in a row, it’s all about claiming the holy grail.

On 29 May, they’ll face Chelsea in the Champions League Final, looking to become champions of Europe for the very first time.

They may go into that final with some trepidation having lost twice to Chelsea in the last month, once in the FA Cup semi-finals and then in the league last weekend.

So, these last three league games, away to Brighton on Tuesday and at home to Everton on the final day, give Guardiola the opportunity to fine-tune his best XI.

Will they get back to winning ways?

As for Newcastle United, they could provide stiff opposition.

In the Magpies last game, a week ago, they raced into a 4-0 lead away at Leicester before eventually winning 4-2.

Joe Willock opened the scoring, his fourth goal in five appearances, before a Paul Dummett header and a Callum Wilson brace secured the victory.

That’s the first time Newcastle have scored 4+ in a Premier League game since 1 July 2020 at Bournemouth.

They last did so against a club who’ll go onto qualify for Europe, which Leicester will, on the final day of the 2015/16 season in a 5-1 home win over Tottenham.

So, Steve Bruce’s side have amassed 11 points from their last six games, only losing once in this time.

This form has propelled Newcastle away from the bottom three and they are now assured of Premier League survival.

Freed from the burden of potentially being relegated, can the Toon Army stun the newly crowned champions?

Prediction: Newcastle United 0-2 Manchester City

Newcastle United have lost just one of their last four home league matches against Manchester City despite falling behind in all four.

However, the Magpies have only won one of their last 20 encounters with Premier League leaders.

Man City meanwhile can win a 12th straight league away win, which would break the all-time record for the top four tiers of English football.
