Can Kilmarnock continue their push for Premiership survival?

Last time out in the league, Kyle Lafferty scored a hat-trick as Killie beat Dundee United 3-0 at Rugby Park.

He’s now scored ten goals in just eight appearances for the club.

Tommy Wright’s side have now taken seven points from the last nine available, also hammering Motherwell 4-1 and drawing 2-2 at Ross County.

This means Kilmarnock are currently in tenth, the final safety position, two points above Ross County and five clear of Hamilton.

Can they take another gigantic step to safety here?

Motherwell meanwhile are guaranteed to be a top-flight side next season.

They won 1-0 at the Fountain of Youth Stadium in their last league game, Mark O’Hara with the only goal against Hamilton Accies.

Having lost the first three Lanarkshire derbies of the season, the Well were delighted to win that one.

Graham Alexander’s men have now won four of their last five league games so have secured safety.

Both clubs were involved in thrilling Scottish Cup quarter-final ties last weekend.

Motherwell found themselves 2-0 down at Hibs but two goals in the final eight minutes, from Ricki Lamie and then Tony Watt, forced extra time and then penalties.

However, O’Hara and Steven Lawless both missed from the spot at Hibernian progressed.

It was a similar story for Killie.

They drew 3-3 with St Mirren at home, Zeno Ibsen Rossi, Greg Kiltie and Ross Millen all scored, before losing on penalties; Rory McKenzie the only man to miss from the spot.

Who will bounce back with three Premiership points here?

Prediction: Motherwell 2-2 Kilmarnock

Just two of the last eight meetings between these two clubs have been won by the home team, with these matches witnessing four away victories.
