Italy vs Spain live streaming: Preview

Italy battle it out with old nemesis Spain in the semi-finals of Euro 2020 at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday.

Roberto Mancini’s side defeated World ranked No.1 Belgium 2-1 in the quarter-finals on Friday in Munich, with Nicolo Barella and Lorenzo Insigne scoring the all-important goals to help their team reach the final four. The result meant the Azzurri stretched their unbeaten run to 32 games.

Italy traditionally have always been a hard team to score against, and this side is proving no exception. Before conceding against Austria in the last-16, their goal had not been breached in over 16 hours over football. Where this side is different, is in attack, however, having netted a total of 11 goals so far, their best record since winning the 2006 World Cup.

Leonardo Spinazzola is ruled out with an Achilles problem, so Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri is likely to replace him in the left-wing back role.

Barella, who netted his sixth goal for his nation in the win over Belgium, is expected to retain his place ahead of previous goalscorers Matteo Pessina and Manuel Locatelli.

Spain, managed by Luis Enrique, are going in search of a fourth European triumph on Tuesday, having previously defeated Italy 4-0 in the final back in the 2012.

La Roja, who are unbeaten in their last 13 matches against the Italians, defeated Croatia 5-3 in the last-16, before despatching Switzerland 3-1 on penalties in the quarter-finals.

The 2010 world champions are likely to be without 29-year-old Paris Saint-Germain winger Pablo Sarabia due to a muscle problem, so Dani Olmo could be given the nod. Manchester City’s in-form forward Ferran Torres should retain his place ahead of Villarreal’s Gerard Moreno up front.

Both last faced each other in September 2017, with Spain winning 3-0.

Prediction: Italy 2 – 1 Spain

Italy will be out for revenge following their thrashing to the Spanish in the 2012 final. The Italians go into the match 32 games unbeaten in all competitions and are likely to edge this clash.
