After a magnificent victory in Europe in midweek, can Celtic now get back to winning ways in the Scottish Premiership?

On Thursday night, the Hoops beat Hungarian champions Ferencváros 3-2 at Groupama Aréna in Budapest.

Kyōgo Furuhashi, who else, opened the scoring after just three minutes before the other members of the fab front three, Jota and Liel Abada, also netted.

The home side did get one back towards the end but, by Celtic’s standards, it was a comfortable European away victory.

This means the Bhoys are guaranteed post-Christmas European football having beaten Ferencváros both home and away.

They’ll need to take four points, at least, from their final two games away to Bayer Leverkusen and at home to Real Betis to remain in the Europa League.

Otherwise, UEFA Europa Conference League football will be coming to the East End of Glasgow in February.

But, will the league title be making the 4.3 mile journey across the city come May?

Ange Postecoglou’s side won four Premiership games in a row in October, beating Aberdeen, Motherwell, St Johnstone and then Hibernian.

But then, last weekend, they were held to a goalless draw by Livingston at home; Giorgos Giakoumakis seeing a tame second half penalty saved.

This means the Celts are currently second in the table, four points behind Rangers.

Will they ensure, at worst, the gap remains at four with a victory here?

Dundee meanwhile currently occupy the relegation play-off place.

11 days ago, the Dee suffered their biggest defeat in any competition since a 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Celtic on Halloween 2018.

But, what was more concerning about this 5-0 home hammering is it came against Ross County who are bottom of the table and were winless before this.

Nevertheless, last weekend, James McPake’s side bounced back brilliantly by beating St Mirren 1-0 in Paisley; Max Anderson scoring early.

That is just the second time the Dark Blues have won since promotion back to the Premiership having also beaten Aberdeen last month.

Celtic should cruise to victory at Dens Park.

101 Great Goals prediction: Dundee 1-3 Celtic

Celtic are unbeaten in 37 meetings with Dundee, winning 31 of them, scoring 92 and conceding 16 in these matches.

The Dee’s last victory over the Hoops came on 12 May 2001, a 2-0 victory at Parkhead.
