Match preview: Team & Player Performance

Can Deportivo Alavés claim a massive victory?

Last weekend, el Glorioso were beaten 3-1 by Elche at Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero, despite taking the lead through Joselu.

This extends Alavés' winless run to 11 games, losing seven of these, with José Luis Mendilibar not winning any of his five matches in charge so far.

This leaves them 19th, six points behind RCD Mallorca and safety.

Valencia meanwhile make the long journey north looking for their first league victory of 2022 too.

Los Che held Real Sociedad to a goalless draw last weekend, but that means they've only taken two points from five outings since Christmas Day.

However, los Murciélagos are going strong in the Copa del Rey and were in semi-final action on Thursday night.

Despite seeing Maxi Gómez sent off in first half stoppage time, they battled to a 1-1 draw with Athletic Club at San Mamés, thanks to Hugo Duro's equaliser.

This gives José Bordalás' side the edge ahead of the second leg back at Mestalla on 2 March.

Before then, Valencia need to improve their current league position of 11th.

Will there be a winner at Mendizorrotza?
