China vs Syrian Arab Republic live streaming: Preview

China take on Syria at the Sharjah Stadium in Dubai in the AFC 2022 World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday.

Li Tie’s side, who last competed in the World Cup in 2002, will finish second in Group A regardless of what happens in the match on Tuesday, and therefore progress to the third stages of qualifying.

They are currently second in the group with 16 points, and defeated the Maldives 5-0 on June 11 in their last match.

Former Everton youngster Tyias Browning is expected to make his second cap, with Wu Lei joining him in the starting XI.

Syria, managed by Nabil Maaloul, have won all seven of their matches in their group and will advance to the third-stage of qualifying, also.

Maaloul’s men defeated Guam 3-0 last Monday and will look to end on a high by making it eight wins in the group stages.

Mardik Mardikian will start up front, having netted a brace in the victory over Guam and Simon Amin could make his second appearances for his nation. Mahmoud Al-Mawas is their top-scorer with 15 goals in 72 appearances, and will also be given the nod.

Both last faced each other in November 2019, with Syria winning 2-1.

Prediction: China 2 – 2 Syrian Arab Republic

A draw seems fair given both sides go into the clash in fine form and are likely to qualify for the third qualifying round.
