The reigning World Champions take on the world’s number one ranked team in a blockbuster Nations League semi-final.

France have won two Confederations Cups, two Euros and two World Cups in their illustrious history, of course winning the biggest of them all in 2018.

Thus, Didier Deschamps’ side went into this summer’s Euros with sky-high aspirations but crashed out in the round of 16, losing to Switzerland on penalties.

Now though, les Bleus can become the first nation to win four different men’s senior international titles.

To get here, they topped a very competitive Group A3, above reigning champions Portugal, Croatia and Sweden.

A matchday five victory in Lisbon secured France’s place at these finals; N’Golo Kanté getting the only goal at Estádio da Luz.

Now, will les Bleus reach a ninth major international final?

Belgium meanwhile have been the world’s number one ranked side for 40 months but are yet to win a major honour.

This current ‘golden generation’ came closest to glory in 2018, reaching the World Cup semi-finals before agonisingly losing 1-0 to France in Saint Petersburg.

This summer, Roberto Martínez’s side knocked out holders Portugal at the Euros but fell at the quarter-final stage to eventual winners Italy.

To get to these finals, the Red Devils won five of their six group games against England, Denmark and Iceland, losing just once away at Wembley.

The other three Nations League Finalists have 16 major titles between them but Belgium are dreaming of their very first.

Which one of these neighbours will be travelling to Milan for Sunday’s final after this one at Allianz Stadium?

101 Great Goals prediction: Belgium 1-2 France

These two last met in the World Cup semi-finals in 2018 when Samuel Umtiti’s header so France to a 1-0 victory in Saint Petersburg.

This means France have won their all three tournament meetings with Belgium after wins in 1938, 1984 and 1986.

The Red Devils last competitive victory over les Blues was in Spain ’82 qualifying, a 2-0 win in Brussels, as both qualified for the World Cup.
