Aston Villa vs Liverpool live streaming: Preview 

Aston Villa take on Liverpool at Villa Park in the FA Youth Cup final on Monday.

On their journey to the final, Sean Verity’s men defeated Reading 4-3 in round three with Louie Barry netting a 93rd-minute winner. Villa then won 3-0 against Brighton and Hove Albion, before Burton Albion suffered a 9-0 thrashing.

In the quarter-finals, the Villans beat Newcastle United 6-1, before they overcame local rivals West Brom 4-1 to set-up the tie against Liverpool. Verity’s side scored a total of 26 goals and conceded five on their route to today’s encounter, and should they win, it will be their first FA Youth Cup in 19 years.

Liverpool reach the final having defeated Sutton United 6-0 in round three, before despatching arch-rivals Manchester United 1-0 in the fourth round. The Reds then got the better of Leicester City in a 5-1 victory in round five, with James Balagizi netting a hat-trick.

Marc Bridge-Wilkinson’s side overcame Arsenal 3-1 at Anfield in the quarter-finals, and then produced a second-half comeback to defeat Ipswich Town at Portman Road, to set-up the final against Villa.

Netting 17 goals and conceding just three in the process, the Reds are aiming to become the fifth side in the club’s history to lift English football’s most prestigious youth competition, and claim a second FA Youth Cup in three years.

Prediction: Aston Villa 2 – 3 Liverpool

Goals are expected given a total of 43 have been scored between both sides on-route to the final. It is a close-call by the two best sides in this years competition, but Liverpool could have the edge given the Reds had to turn it around in the semi-finals to progress.
