Can anyone stop relentless Manchester City?

On Wednesday night, the Citizens won 3-1 at Goodison Park as goals from Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva downed Everton.

Pep Guardiola’s side have now won 17 straight games in all competitions, extending their new record.

They’ve also won ten straight top-flight games at the start of a calendar year, the first English team to do so.

This leaves them ten points clear at the top, seemingly set to win a third Premier League title in four years.

This forthcoming Wednesday, Man City will face Borussia Mönchengladbach in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg at Puskás Aréna.

Will they win again ahead of that big game?

Arsenal meanwhile are of course now managed by former Manchester City assistant Mikel Arteta, looking to plot the downfall of his former employers.

However, Arteta’s side are not coming into this huge test in the best form.

On Thursday, Bukayo Saka’s equaliser helped them draw 1-1 with Benfica in the Europa League round of 32 first leg at Stadio Olimpico.

In all honesty, Arsenal should have won that game but are in a far from comfortable position ahead of the second leg at Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium.

In the Premier League, Arsenal’s only win in their last four was last Sunday’s 4-2 home victory over Leeds United.

They’re currently tenth, three points outside the potential European places.

Manchester City have won nine of their last ten meetings with Arsenal, the only exception being last season’s FA Cup semi-final.

Can the Gunners cause an even bigger shock this time?
