It’s a huge battle down at the bottom end of Ligue 1 this weekend with Troyes set to welcome Brest to the Stade de l’Aube where the home side are still in the bottom four as the away outfit sit narrowly outside of it.

Just three points are keeping these two adrift of one another in Ligue 1 before this battle on Sunday, as Troyes sit with 20 point and a hugely inferior goals difference margin after letting in 59 goals from only 27 fixtures.

Now, after winning only one game in 2023 from 11 outings in Ligue 1, they sit only ahead of Angers in the form guide this calendar year. Troyes have gone on to lose to Lorient, Ajaccio, Reims, Lyon, Montpellier and Toulouse since February, drawing with only Monaco.

As for Brest, they were narrowly beaten by the champions Paris Saint-Germain last time out after Franck Honorat’s equaliser was cancelled out by a Kylian Mbappe stoppage time winner.

They did beat Strasbourg two weeks back, and they now sit above Auxerre on only goals difference but three clear of Troyes. A loss here could pull them into 18th, depending on other results.
