Match Preview

After the struggles of last season, Lyon are looking back to a better form of themselves with the club sitting fourth in Ligue 1 after four games as they travel to the Stade Auguste Delaune where a struggling Reims side awaits them.

Lyon have so far only played twice in the league this season with the Lorient fixture scheduled two weeks back getting postponed. This does leave them with a perfect six for six after two games, however.

Peter Bosz’s side first edged past the newly-promoted Ajaccio as new captain and former hero, Alexandre Lacazette, scored on his second league debut for his side. Tete also scored the opener, but they now sit without their regular number one, Anthony Lopes, after he was sent off that game and faces a suspension.

A 4-1 demolition over Troyes saw Tete net another two goals after a goal each from Nicolas Tagliafico and Alexandre Lacazette sealed the deal for Lyon. The club had an incredible 67% of the ball that day with eight shots on target in a truly dominant display.

Reims are winless so far in the league and only have the point picked up away to Strasbourg to shout about. Marseille and Clermont Foot have both scored four goals against them as well in Ligue 1, which now means four goals scored and nine conceded for the club after three games.

Lyon will be confident in getting the job done here, as they look much the better side with Lacazette leading the line like his former self once more.
