After registering 2-1 victories each, Lens and Lorient will meet at the Estadio Bollaert-Delelis this Wednesday night with the home side looking to further establish themselves as potential title contenders in Ligue 1.
Lorient have started the season way better than they did in 2021/22. The club fought relegation from the off last time out, but with them avoiding a defeat in their three four Ligue 1 games, they are now sitting fourth in the table and way ahead of what was expected.
Terem Moffi was the hero last time out with two goals in the first half, as Lorient defeated Clermont Foot with a notable nine shots on target in the game. Régis Le Bris’ side have also managed to take a point off Toulouse in a 2-2 draw recently, while also defeating last season’s second top scorers, Rennes, 1-0 away from home.
Lorient also have a game extra to play as well, as their game with Lyon was postponed. Lens, however, are unbeaten in their first four games of the season and are only trailing the champions PSG in the league title race early on.
The club managed to beat Rennes 2-1 on Sunday, and off the back of hammering Monaco away from home in a 4-1 victory, they are also only trailing Montpellier, PSG and Marseille as the highest scorers in the league.
A 3-2 win over Brest and a 0-0 draw with Ajaccio keeps them unbeaten and up in second right now in Ligue 1. Lens are the favourites in this one, but this cannot look past the impressive form of Lorient so far this season.
