Clermont Foot’s excellent form in Ligue 1 will face another tricky test when the club meet with the in-form Nantes who also head into this game off the back of one of their best results of the season away from home.

Nantes’ 0-0 draw with Lyon two weeks back was in itself a commendable result in terms of their efforts to get into the top half, but by beating Montpellier 3-0 on the road, they come into this game in 13th and behind the top 10 by four points.

Andrei Girotto scored that day for Nantes, before a late goal each from Mostafa Mohamed and Ludovic Blas. Antoine Kombouaré's men managed to narrowly get past Thaon in the French Cup round of 32 last Sunday, as they drew 0-0 in 90 minutes before a victory on penalties.

As for Clermont, they are into the top 10 once more with eight wins and seven losses on the board from 19 games. They had a week off because of their absence from the French Cup, but they are coming into this one with three league wins in a row.

This run started by beating Lyon before Clermont edged past Rennes and Angers in the last two games.
