23rd takes on 14th in League One this Boxing Day as the Pirelli Stadium plays hosts to an out-of-form Burton Albion at and Lincoln City with the Brewers aiming to get out of the drop zone before 2023 after a dreadful season so far.

Burton have been shocking this campaign and there is nothing for them to shout about anymore with them now out of the Football League Trophy third round too, following on from a 4-2 loss to Accrington Stanley. Burton also lost to Barnsley over the past weekend in the league, while also drawing 1-1 with MK Dons and Derby County earlier in the month.

As for Lincoln, they narrowly lost to Southampton in the round of 16 EFL Cup tie in midweek, although they did take the lead thanks to an own goal from the Saints. A goal in either half from Che Adams crushed the Imps’ hearts, however, and they remain in the bottom half of the league too.

Last time out in League One, Lincoln drew 0-0 with Wycombe and the last time they managed to get all three points in a league game was back in mid-November, as they beat last-placed Morecambe.
