Real Sociedad’s European form this season has been flawless, so now can they improve their standing in La Liga?

On Thursday night, Ander Guevara and Alexander Sørloth were on target as La Real beat Omonia 2-1 in the Europa League.

Having also beaten Manchester United at Old Trafford a week earlier, los Txuri-Urdin are sitting pretty at the top of that group.

Back in the league though, Imanol Alguacil’s team start the weekend 11th, following last Sunday’s generally lifeless defeat to Getafe at the Coliseum.

In fairness, before this, Real Sociedad’s only dropped points had come in a heavy defeat to Barça and a 1-1 draw with Atlético.

Last weekend, Blanquiazules found themselves 3-0 down at half time against Sevilla, with goals from Joselu and Martin Braithwaite not quite enough to spark a full-scale come back.
