Match preview

Will Valencia's recent slump in results continue?

Last weekend, los Murciélagos were hammered 4-1 by Barcelona with Carlos Soler's goal, making it 3-1, scant consolation.

This defeat actually means los Che are now winless since before Christmas, amassing just two points from a possible 21.

As a result, José Bordalás' side have dropped all the way from seventh to 12th so are now eight points below the potential European places.

Coming up on Wednesday, they host Athletic Club in their Copa del Rey semi-final second leg, having drawn 1-1 at San Mamés.

That's obviously a massive game but, before then, can Valencia address their winless league run?

RCD Mallorca meanwhile won back-to-back games earlier this month, beating Cádiz and then Athletic, 2-1 and 3-2 respectively.

So, despite going down 2-1 at Real Betis last Sunday, Luis García Plaza's men are 16th, two places and six points clear of danger.

Will there be a winner at Son Moix?

Mallorca team news

Despite defeat last weekend, Mallorca aren't likely to make too many changes.

Vedat Muriqi scored again last weekend, meaning he's now netted twice in three La Liga appearances since arriving on loan from Lazio.

He'll partner Ángel in attack with Takefusa Kubo supporting from outwide.

Iñigo Ruiz de Galarreta went off injured at Betis so isn't likely to feature here.

Valencia team news

Giorgi Mamardashvili will continue in goal for the visitors, chosen over Jaume Doménech, with Jasper Cillessen injured.

Elsewhere, José Luis Gayà hobbled off against Barça so is a doubt at left-back.

Yunus Musah and Maxi Gómez could return to the XI, the latter possibly to partner Gonçalo Guedes in attack.
