Levante vs Deportivo Alavés betting tips: La Liga preview, predictions and odds

Alavés have won 11 of their last 17 meetings with Levante, including a 2-1 victory at Mendizorrotza in November. Each of their last three encounters have seen both teams score.

Both teams to score is 8/13.

Alavés to win and over 2.5 goals is 11/5.

Joselu is 7/2 to break the deadlock and 20/21 to score anytime.

Match preview

La Liga's bottom two meet in Valencia and, despite this being the penultimate game of the season, one of them could yet survive.

This though is not the case for Levante who's five-year stay in the top-flight came to an end in midweek.

On Thursday, the Frogs suffered their biggest defeat for nine years, hammered 6-0 at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu by champions Real Madrid.

This result leaves Alessio Lisci's side six points below Cádiz and safety but, due to their inferior head-to-head record, they can no long survive.

Earlier this season, Levante broke the Primera División record for most consecutive matches without a victory, 27 including the end of last season.

Since finally ending this sequence by beating Mallorca on 8 January, they've won five more matches, but had left themselves too much to do.

While their the die is cast, this is a huge game for Alavés are they look to live to fight another die.

El Glorioso kept their hopes of staying up going on Wednesday night by beating Espanyol 2-1 at Mendizorrotza.

Miguel de la Fuente broke the deadlock before Gonzalo Escalante got, what turned out to be, the winner just after half time against ten men.

So, Julio Velázquez's side have now won three home games on the spin, leaving them four points from safety with just two games to go.

They host Cádiz on the final day and, given that the Yellow Submarine are the team they're chasing, that could be a massive game.

The only problem is that Alavés' away form is horrendous, losing their last five matches on the road, last winning away at Cádiz in mid-October.

Will the visitors claim a priceless victory at Estadi Ciutat de València?

Levante team news

One would imagine that star striker and captain José Luis Morales might still be in La Liga next season, having scored 12 goals this year.

If he does leave Levante, this'll be his final home game for the club.

Dani Gómez was his strike partner on Thursday but Roger or Roberto Soldado could come in for this one.

Martín Cáceres went off at the Bernabéu so is a doubt; Shkodran Mustafi is a long-term absentee.

Deportivo Alavés team news

Joselu has scored 13 of Alavés' 30 La Liga goals this season, although he's only scored once in his last 12 appearances.

Despite this drop off in form, he'll continue to lead the line with Édgar Méndez and Luis Rioja in support from wide areas.
