Can Levante haul themselves towards safety?

Last Sunday night, the Frogs welcomed in-form Barcelona to Estadi Ciutat de València for, what turned out to be, a thrilling contest.

The home side were awarded no less than three penalties with José Luis Morales and Gonzalo Melero converting but Roger seeing his effort saved from 12 yards.

This proved costly as Alessio Lisci's side left the match with nothing to show for their efforts, with Barça snatching a 3-2 victory in stoppage time.

So, Levante have only won one of their last five leaving them 19th, seven points from safety.

One of the teams they're attempting to catch is Granada as, from their perspective, they are hovering dangerously close to the bottom three.

Ruben Torrecilla's side looked like holding Sevilla to a 2-2 draw last Friday night with Darwin Machís and then Víctor Díaz on target.

However, Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán witnessed a quite extraordinary finish with Sevilla regaining the lead in the 93rd minute, before sealing the deal in the 99th.

So, Granada have taken just five points from the last 33 available, beating Alavés in Torrecilla's second match in charge.

This leaves them 16th, one point above Cádiz in 18th and seven clear of Levante.

Who will claim a huge victory at Nuevo Estadio de Los Cármenes?

Granada team news

Granada are short of defensive options with Santiago Arias, Neyder Lozano, Raúl Torrente and Carlos Neva all injured.

So, Germán Sánchez could come in at centre-back alongside captain Víctor Díaz and Domingos Duarte.

Njegoš Petrović will remain a key figure in midfield.

Luis Suárez and Darwin Machís led the line at Sevilla but Carlos Bacca or Jorge Molina could come in.

Levante team news

Shkodran Mustafi has been on the bench recently and made his first appearance since 11 December against Villarreal a fortnight ago.

However, the Germany World Cup winner wasn't in the matchday squad against Barcelona so is a doubt for this one.

José Luis Morales was excellent last Sunday so will continue to lead the line, supported by Roger, Enis Bardhi or Roberto Soldado.
