Antonio Valencia continues his fine season
Played at full back by Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, Antonio Valencia is in the midst of a fine campaign.
So good were some of his displays in the opening weeks of the campaign that some suggested he was the best right back on the planet.
For Ecuador, Valencia plays in an attacking midfield position, behind two strikers in a 4-2-2-2.
On Thursday night, Ecuador pulled off a fine 3-0 win over South American double champions Chile.
“Fight for what you want”
The opening goal was scored by Manchester United’s Antonio Valencia who pulled out a cracking finish after the ball was worked across to the onrushing Ecuador star.
After the game, Valencia posted his goal on Instagram with the following message: “Levántate, suspira, sonríe y sigue adelante; si luchas por lo que quieres, tarde o temprano, llegará.”
Translated: “Arise, sigh, smile and moves on; if you fight for what you want, sooner or later it will come.”
Whilst Manchester United fans will be interested to see how Antonio Valencia scored, it was clearly overshadowed by incredible scenes towards the end of the match:
