Adelaide reduced the deficit eight minutes later through Adam Hughes before Adrian Leijer rose to head home Hernandez’s corner in the 89th minute to kill the match.


LA Galaxy 2 – San Jose Earthquakes 0 (MLS, October 24, 2009) Earthquakes defender Bobby Burling deflected Landon Donovan’s cross into his net for an own goal in the 24th minute, and Donovan finished a quick length-of-the-field sequence in the 77th as the Galaxy sowed up their first divisional title in seven long years.
