Urawa move up to third in J-League sinking Shonan; Burzanovic double leads NAgoya past Kobe; Okazaki brace lifts Shimizu at Yokohama

Urawa Red Diamonds 2 – Shonan Bellmare 1 (J-League, April 3, 2010) Urawa forward Tatsuya Tanaka was bought down by defender Muramatsu in the area, allowing Brazilian midfielder Ponte to duly flick in the following penalty shot shortly before the break. In the 56th minute Yuki Abe was pulled down just outside the penalty area, and Abe himself hit a free kick, which picked up a deflection off a defender before going in. Shonan managed to pull one back in injury time through Genki Nakayama from a cross by Koji Sakamoto.

Yokohama F.Marinos 1 – Shimizu S-Pulse 2 (J-League, April 3, 2010) Shimizu’s serial goalscorer Shinji Okazaki put the visitors’ 2-up with a first half double, Norihisa Shimizu pulled a late goal back for Yokohama but it was too little, too late.

Cerezo Osaka 3 – Kyoto Sanga 1 (J-League, April 3, 2010) Osaka claimed a comfortable home win after Shinji Kagawa had given Cerezo a 2-goal lead by the 53rd minute. A last minute Ryuji Bando third rounded off the win.

Nagoya Grampus Eight 2 – Vissel Kobe 0 (J-League, April 3, 2010) A brace of dazzling free-kicks in each half from Igor Burzanovic lead Nagoya to victory.

Albirex Niigata 0 – Omiya Ardija 0 (J-League, April 3, 2010)
