Philly claim their maiden victory as Le Toux trips sink DC; Coundoul howler the lowpoint of Red Bulls loss at Chivas; Buddle brace lifts LA

Philadelphia Union 3 – DC United 2 (MLS, April 10, 2010) The Union went up 2-0 in the first half with goals from Sebastien Le Toux in the fourth minute and 40th minute. Union mistakes allowed DC United to get back into the match in the second half with Santino Quaranta and Jaime Moreno punishing the hosts for poor defending. But in the end it mattered little as striker Le Toux gave the Philly fans what they came for in the 80th minute as he blasted a 22-yard free-kick past Troy Perkins to claim his hat-trick and earn the Union the win in its inaugural home game.

Chivas USA 2 – New York Red Bulls 0 (MLS, April 10, 2010) New York goalie Bouna Coundoul scored a horrific own goal to give Chivas the lead early in the second half, Padilla saw his deflected shot hit the post and travel towards the arms of Coundoul who incredibly screwed up his catch and knocked the ball over the line. Jesus Padilla sealed the win with a low shot at the death.

Houston Dynamo 0 – LA Galaxy 2 (MLS, April 10, 2010) Edson Buddle, who has scored all five of the Galaxy’s goals this season, put Los Angeles ahead in the 27th minute and doubled the advantage just before halftime.
