Shandong Luneng 2 – FC Seoul 0 (Asian Champions League, April 8, 2009) Shandong made the breakthrough nine minutes into the second half when Cui Peng squared a pass inside the box to the unmarked Lu Zheng and the forward lashed a low drive into the net. Shandong’s second arrived after Zivkovic chipped the ball towards Lu Zheng, who controlled on his chested down before shooting on target, Han Peng prodding home the rebound from close range.

Bunyodkor 2 – Sepahan 2 (Asian Champions League, April 8, 2009) Shavkat Salomov fired the hosts ahead but Sepahan turned the tide with Seyed Hadi Aghily levelling just before halftime and Emad Mohammed firing them ahead in the 61st minute. However Ashurmatov pounced on a rebound after goalkeeper Rahman Ahmadi had made a fine save to end the match honours-even.

Atlante 3 – Santos 1 (Agg. 4-3) (CONCACAf League, April 8, 2009) Luis Gabriel Rey beat goalkeeper Oswaldo Sanchez in minute 41 to take the lead for the hosts. Matias Vuoso equalised in the 67th minute after an assist from Carlos Darwin Quintero. In the minute 74, Luis Gabriel Rey netted to make it 2-1 for Atlante and 3-3 on aggregate for Atlante and in injury time Rafael Marquez Lugo scored from the spot to send Atlante to the CONCACAF Champions League final.
