Gamba Osaka advance in AFC Champions League; China’s Shandong out after four consecutive losses

Singapore Armed Forces 2 – Henan Jianye 1 (Asian Champions League, April 13, 2010) Daniel Bennett put SAF in front after 65 minutes and although Yu Le levelled for Henan shortly afterwards, substitute Erwan Gunawan headed home 13 minutes from the end to give the hosts their first ever victory in the competition.

Gamba Osaka 2 – Suwon Bluewings 1 (Asian Champions League, April 13, 2010) Suwon threatened to wrap up top spot in the group with one match to spare when Jose Mota scored his fifth goal of the competition on 58 minutes. The Koreans were pegged back only three minutes later by Takahiro Futagawa, and Gamba won the match with a last minute winner from teenager Takashi Usami.

Shandong Luneng 2 – Sanfrecce Hiroshima 3 (Asian Champions League, April 13, 2010) Han Peng put the hosts ahead at Shandong Sports Centre in first-half stoppage time but Koji Morisaki and Lee then scored two goals in the space of six minutes to put the visitors ahead. Fred Benson equalised in the 84th minute but Tanadari Lee sidefooted home deep in injury time to earn Sanfrecce victory.

Sepahan 1 – Al Shabab 0 (Asian Champions League, April 13, 2010) Jamshidian scored after just nine minutes as Al Shabab keeper Abdullah beat away Safi’s effort but the rebound fell to the midfielder, who volleyed home.
