Albirex hand S-Pulse first loss; Yokohama beat Urawa Reds 3-2 away; Kobe breeze past Jubilo

Urawa Red Diamonds 2 – Yokohama F. Marinos 3 (J-League, May 8, 2010) Kazuma Watanabe opened the scoring after just six minutes after good work from Shunsuke Nakamura only for Yosuke Kashiwagi to pull the home side level 14 miutes later. Shingo Hyodo restored the Marinos’ lead on the stroke of halftime only for Brazilian striker Edmilson to equalise for the Reds four minutes after the break. But on the hour mark Koji Yamase set up Watanabe to add a second to lift the Marinos up to sixth.

Shimizu S-Pulse 0 – Albirex Niigata 2 (J-League, May 8, 2010) Daigo Nishi and Brazilian striker Michael were on target as resurgent Albirex Niigata shattered Shimizu S-Pulse’s unbeaten start to the season.

Vissel Kobe 3 – Jubilo Iwata 0 (J-League, May 8, 2010) Hiroto Mogi, Yoshito Okubo and Brazilian midfielder Popo scored as Vissel Kobe beat Jubilo Iwata 3-0.
