Al Ittihad finishes off Nagoya in Asian Champions League; Pohang Steelers reach the final

Nagoya Grampus Eight 1 – Al-Ittihad 2 (Agg. 3-8) (Asian Champions League second leg, October 28, 2009) Al-Ittihad defender Saleh-Fahad Alsaqri scored in the 43rd minute and midfielder Amine Chermite doubled the lead early in the second half to give the Saudi Arabian team an unassailable lead. The J-Leaguers did get on the scoresheet though as Keita Sugimoto cracked home an incredible overhead-volley from an acute angle midway through the second half.

Umm-Salal 1 – Pohang Steelers 2 (Agg. 1-4) (Asian Champions League second leg, October 28, 2009) Stevica Ristik scored in the 55th minute and No Byungjun in the 59th for South Korean’s Pohang, Ebrahima Nadiya scored from a late free-kick for Umm-Salal.
