AFC CL: Guizhou get a late draw at Reysol; Mariners sink Suwon; Al Gharafa, Esteghlal into next round

Kashiwa Reysol 1 – Guizhou Renhe 1 (AFC Champions League, April 23, 2013) Li Kai struck five minutes from time to secure a 1-1 draw for Guizhou Renhe against Kashiwa Reysol.

Suwon Bluewings 0 – Central Coast Mariners 1 (AFC Champions League, April 23, 2013) Michael McGlinchey struck with 11 minutes remaining as the Mariners boosted their hopes of reaching the last 16.

Al-Garrafa 2 – Al Ahli 2 (AFC Champions League, April 23, 2013) Alex gave Al Gharafa the lead in the 24th with a left-footed effort from 20 yards out only for Amad al-Hosni to level seven minutes later when he took a cross from Bruno Cesar and headed home the equalizer. Al Gharafa’s Djibril Cisse put the hosts back in front from the penalty spot nine minutes into the second half before Jairo Palomino equalised for the Saudi club in the 68th.

Esteghlal 3 – Al-Rayyan 0 (AFC Champions League, April 23, 2013) Esteghalal took the lead just before halftime when captain Farhad Majidi directed a downward header past keeper Oumar Barry. The Iranian side doubled its lead with 17 minutes left through Hashem Beikzadeh. Two minutes later, Al Rayyan’s chances all but ended when Abdulkareem Ali was sent off for clashing with Esteghlal’s Javad Nekonam, Substitute Arash Borhani easily penetrated Al Rayyan’s weakened defence and then wrong-footed Barry to make it 3-0.

Al Hilal 2 – Al-Ain 0 (AFC Champions League, April 23, 2013) Salem al-Dawsari gave the hosts a perfect start when he scored four minutes into the match and Wesley capped a fine move that extended its advantage in the 24th.
