Denmark thrash Bulgaria in international friendly cup

Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen today scored his first ever career hat-trick as Denmark beat Bulgaria 4-0 in the Kirin Cup third place play-off.

Held in Japan, the Kirin Cup this year featured Japan, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Denmark and Bulgaria.

Denmark were beaten by Bosnia & Herzegovina on penalties in their previous game and they will face off against Japan in the final later today.

The Danes will not feature at EURO 2016 after losing to Sweden in the play-offs.

Christian Eriksen’s first ever hat-trick

Spurs star Christian Eriksen is a regular feature on the scoresheet but today managed to score a trio of goals late on against Bulgaria.

Eriksen’s first goal came in the 72nd minute and he completed his 10 minute hat-trick with a fine right footed finish.

The 24-year-old former Ajax player will be gutted his country didn’t qualify for the European Championships in France but will hopefully be raring to go at the start of the 2016/17 campaign. Watch his goals below.
