The return of the FA Cup: Leeds denied by 10-man Cobblers; Cologne beat Hannover in the Bundesliga

Leeds 1 – Northampton 1 (FA Cup, November 7, 2008) (Longer highlights here.) Scott McGleish got the opener for the Cobblers after only nine minutes with a far post tap-in, but the visitors were then reduced to 10-men when Giles Coke was dismissed for a second bookable offence in the 27th minute. And soon the hosts were on level terms, Andy Robinson scored from the penalty spot. But Leeds were unable to end their FA Cup jinx, which has seen then without a victory in the competition for five long years.
