Stevenage hit Cambridge for four to go top of the Conference

Stevenage Borough 4 – Cambridge United 1 (Blue Square Premier, January 1, 2009) Stevenage went top of the Blue Square Premier table courtesy of a convincing win over dire out-of-form Cambridge. Yemi Odubade put Boro ahead, nodding home Stacy Long’s ball from close range but Danny Crow levelled with a deft header from Courtney Pitt’s free-kick. The impressive Odubade then set up goals for Lee Boylan, who finished from 18 yards out, and Chris Beardsley. Boylan completed the rout by converting Long’s pass, before United’s Brian Saah was dismissed for two bookings.
