Real Madrid fail to set new club record
After winning 16 games on the bounce, Real Madrid were expected to set a new club record when they faced Villarreal at home on Wednesday evening.
Instead, Real Madrid could only draw 1-1 with Villarreal and lost the opportunity of setting the record.
With Barcelona and Atletico Madrid drawing later on Wednesday evening, it wasn’t an awful result for Los Blancos, despite the fact they are expected to win these kinds of matches.
Ramos secures a point
The Yellow Submarine took the lead on the stroke of half-time – Bruno clipping home a Panenka penalty.
Real Madrid equalised three minutes after half-time. Sergio Ramos heading home a James Rodriguez corner.
This was Ramos’ 46th goal for Real Madrid – he has tied Roberto Carlos in terms of goals for Los Blancos.
