La Liga goals: Raul keeps Madrid in second; Jurado sinks Valencia to lift Mallorca off bottom spot; 10-man Racing stun Sevilla

Real Madrid 1 – Deportivo La Coruna 0 (La Liga, January 25, 2009) Raul headed home Diarra’s cross in the 40th minute to put Real ahead against Deportivo. (First half highlights here, second half highlights here.)

Sevilla 0 – Racing Santander 2 (La Liga, January 25, 2009) (Longer highlights here.) Cesar Navas shocked Sevilla with the opener for Racing Santander reacting quickest to beat Palop following a Munitis free-kick. Santander’s joy was short lived though when Serrano was sent-off for a foul on Luis Fabiano. But early in the second-half, Santander went two-up from another Munitis dead ball, Nikola Zigic claiming the goal.

Malaga 1 – Atletico Madrid 1 (La Liga, January 25, 2009) (Longer highlights here.) A stunning 30-yard drive from Apono, that took a slight deflection on its way, gave Malaga the lead over Atletico Madrid. Atletico drew level through Jonny Heitinga on the stroke of halftime.

Mallorca 3 – Valencia 1 (La Liga, January 25, 2009) (Longer highlights here.) Valencia were torn to shreds by Mallorca in the first half, Marin bagging a brace with Marti’s penalty sandwiched in between. (First half highlights here.)

Valladolid 1 – Espanyol 1 (La Liga, January 25, 2009) Henok Goitom gave Valladolid the lead over Espanyol turning home a corner.

Getafe 5 – Sporting Gijon 1 (La Liga, January 25, 2009) Soldado and Granero put Getafe 2-up in three minutes in the first half before Barral pulled a goal back for Gijon. After the break Getafe added further goals with Soldado claiming his hat-trick and Uche netting the other.

Almeria 2 – Athletic Bilbao 1 (La Liga, January 25, 2009) (Longer highlights here.) Juanma Ortiz and Kalu Uche put Almeria on control and Bilbao could only respond through Joseba Del Olmo just after the hour.

Recreativo Huelva 1 – Real Betis 0 (La Liga, January 25, 2009) Javier Camunas scored the only goal of the game 18 minutes from time to preserve Recre’s unbeaten home record against Betis, who have never won at the Nuevo Colombino in 15 matches.

Zaragoza 2 – Rayo Vallecano 3 (Segunda Division, January 25, 2009)
