Osasuna 2 – Barcelona 3 (La Liga, January 11, 2008) (Longer highlights here.) Lionel Messi was at the heart of the move which gave Barca the lead at Osasuna, the Argentine picking up the ball in midfield, playing in Samuel Eto’o and the striker found the net. After the break bottom club Osasuna levelled, a deep cross to the back post found Miguel Flano and his looping header nestled in the far post. Ten minutes later Walter Pandiani completed the turnaround by running across Puyol to score at the near post. But Barca, who hadn’t been beaten since the opening day, equalised when Xavi fired home from Alves’ pass. Five minutes from time Barca retook the lead, Lionel Messi winning the match with a bullet into the far corner to keep Barca flying at the top of the league.
