South American Goals: River win an epic 7-goal thriller over Chacarita; Vitoria-Cruzeiro & Botafogo-Gremio both draw 3-all

River Plate 4 – Chacarita Juniors 3 (Argentinean Apertura, August 30, 2009) River led twice through a Diego Buonanotte free kick in the 6th and Gustavo Cabral’s header from a corner in the 32nd. Matias Alustiza leveled each time for Chacarita, first hitting a crisp finish across goal in the 23rd and then dispatching a penalty in first-half injury time. Chacarita took a 3-2 lead when Facundo Parra scored eight minutes after the restart, but River substitute Daniel Villalba equalised in the 69th and Ariel Ortega snatched victory with a measured lob in the 87th to ease the pressure on coach Nestor Gorosito.
