Ronaldo & Roberto Carlos turn out for Corinthians; River beat Boca in a pre-season SuperClasico

Corinthians 2 – Bragantino 1 (Campeonato Paulista, January 20, 2010) Roberto Carlos made his debut for Corinthians, for whom Elias opened the scoring less than a minute into the match at a packed Pacaembu stadium when he found the net from close range on the rebound of a Ronaldo shot.  Midfielder Paulinho equalised for Bragantino in the 33rd minute before striker Jorge Henrique gave Corinthians the lead with a firm right-footer from outside the area in the 64th.

Mirassol 1 – Sao Paulo 1 (Campeonato Paulista, January 20, 2010) Midfielder Richarlyson scored in the final minute to give Sao Paulo a 1-1 draw at Mirassol.

Volta Redonda 1 – Flamengo 3 (Campeonato Carioca, January 20, 2010) Serbian midfielder Dejan Petkovic scored a goal in his debut with Flamengo this year, while striker Bruno Mezenga added the other two goals for the defending Rio champion.


Boca Juniors 1 – River Plate 3 (Torneos De Verano, January 20, 2010) River won the first SuperClasico of the season, having taken a third minute lead through Rodrigo Rojas. Boca legendary striker Martin Palermo scored onm the half hour to level, but second half goals from Rogelio Mori and Daniel “Keko” Villalva wrapped up the morale boosting win for River.
