Estudiantes retain lead; Argentinos remain at the top; Boca dash Independiente’s hopes

Independiente 2 – Boca Juniors 3 (Clausura, May 2, 2010) Independiente went ahead on the half hour through midfielder Ignacio Piatti but Boca hit back within two minutes when Luciano Monzon drilled in a low shot from the edge of the box. Martin Palermo then scored a fluke goal in the 38th to put Boca in front and Pablo Mouche rifled in a fine third for Boca three minutes from time but was sent off for two yellow card offences in quick succession: taking off his shirt and provocative celebrations in front of home fans.  Striker Leonel Nunez pulled one back for Independiente with a stoppage time penalty.

Chacarita Juniors 1 – Estudiantes 2 (Clausura, May 2, 2010)  Midfielder Omar Zarif put relegated Chacarita ahead in the 19th minute but striker Mauro Boselli equalised in the 32nd with a penalty, his 10th goal of the championship, after defender Lisandro Lopez had handled and was sent off. Christian Cellay headed the winner from a right cross before halftime and there was a delay to the start of the second half while police attempted to wrest back a crowd-control hose from angry Chacarita fans.

San Lorenzo 1 – Argentinos Juniors 2 (Clausura, May 2, 2010) Ismael Sosa scored two second-half goals as Argentinos kept the pressure on with a 2-1 victory at San Lorenzo.

Banfield 1 – Huracan 0 (Clausura, May 2, 2010) Maximiliano Laso scored in the 59th minute to give Banfield a win over Huracan.

Colon 0 – Atletico Tucuman 0 (Clausura, May 2, 2010) Colon could only muster a scoreless draw at home against relegated Atletico Tucuman, despite the visitors having Raul Saavedra sent off in the 70th minute.
